Required Skills:
* Lead programming effort for numerous software development projects (product features, client implementations, and platform innovations)
* Analyze, design, plan, and program complex software solutions
* Consistently create high quality software that meets design and requirements specifications on stated timelines
* Performs complex bug verification, testing, and program support for various products
* Provide technical assistance, mentorship and guidance to junior software developers
* Participate in business requirement gathering and analysis.
* Analyze potential impact of problem resolution and take corrective measures when needed
* Promote positive attitude among the team members
* Evaluate technologies with respect to clients Business needs
* Consistently and Timely communicate with all stake holders
Skill Set:
* Strong application design skills and understanding of enterprise software design patterns
* A demonstrated understanding of cloud scalability
* Thorough understanding and experience working with object-oriented languages like Java or C#
* Experience working with functional programming languages like Scala, Clojure, etc. is preferred
* Experience working with scripting languages like Python or Ruby is preferred
* Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and proficient in building RESTful and SOAP-based Web Services
* Experience with relational database design and modeling
* Experience with Hibernate and Java Persistence API (JPA)
* Experience with relational database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server)
* Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc. is preferred
* Experience working with various testing methodologies, including test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and unit testing (using JUnit / TestNG)
* Experience developing web applications with high performance needs
* Experience with performance-monitoring and tuning of JVM-based applications
* Good understanding of Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
* Experience deploying, managing, and configuring applications in cloud environment (Amazon EC2, for example)
* Experience with Tomcat, Websphere, or Weblogic application servers
